All About PSP

dspmusic.org has just released the latest version of its homebrew psp music sequencer pspseq 3.0. with pspseq you can create songs with up to 16 independent audio tracks, use wav audio clips of your own and then modify them with a number of setting, or even use some of the built in synthesizers to generate sounds. There are strong looping and recording features as well. If you are into homebrew music apps on the psp, then this will give you a strong offering of features.

(I haven`t tested it, so i`m taking this on faith) excellent news if you`re bricked your psp.

Acimods contributor "blizzrad" has just finished one of the cleanest mods we`ve seen in a while. With minimal modification to the outside of the PSP he was able to add an external ps2 controller. This naturally took a lot of internal modification. the controller and PSP use a 25 pin smt connector salvaged from a laptop. The controller`s connector housing is from a set of component cables. Blizzrad has put together a great wiring guide for the psp/ps2 controller. it takes a lot of delicate work with 30awg wire, but he`s done most of the hard work figuring out what vias you can use and where you should route wires. We love seeing people take the time to document difficult tasks like this.

Looks like Sony isn`t taking a break from releasing yearly PSP refreshes, that is, if a report from Eurogamer is to believed. Citing "publishing sources", the site claims that a PSP-4000 will be released in 2009. while said sources did not offer any insight in the way of actual details, the 4000 will presumably feature slight hardware upgrades. We`re placing our bets now and saying that a built-in storage will likely be included in the 4000 series. It just make sense, seeing as Sony now has Playstation Store specific to the PSP up and running. Not to mention, if more PSone classics are on the way, extra built-in storage will undoubtedly come in handy. what else could they possibly add??

The same source told the site that a PSP2 is indeed in the works, despite Reeve`s recent denial. Assuming Sony stays in line with it`s yearly hardware releases on the portable front, it wouldn`t be a surprise to see that in late 2010. Games are already in the works, reportedly.
